122 Panther G with FG 1250, I.Abt/PzRg F FHH, Komarom March 1945

Hi Everyone,

have not been posting for a while now. Been busy with lots of other things like work and private life. But in between I always manage to sneak in a couple of hours a week to do something on the bench.

I started this Panther almost 3 months ago. It is the DML Panther G kit. I had the Blast FG 1250 kit already in my stash together with a workable late panther track from Modelkasten, so I decided to use both of them on this kit.

The Panther G which I built was the number 122 of the Ist Abteilung/Panzer Regiment F of the Feldherrnhalle Panzer Division. This tank was fighting in Hungary/Slovakia against Soviet attacks around the 20th of March 1945 in the Komarom area. During counterattacks at night, the Infrared equipment (FG 1250) was used.

There are just a few details left to be done. Things like wingnuts etc. are still missing and most of the parts including cupola, turret and antenna are still dry-fitted.

The PE parts that you can see are just leftover parts from other pe sets which I used for this build. The chain is from the Aber chain set.

The only thing painted right now is the vision block

And the foliage loops on the turret are home made

The part FG 1250

That's great! Only one thing worth to be changed - the tow cable! Probably Eurecka or Karaya are more suetable and accurate.

Looks good.
One question tho ... any reason why you put only one shutter on the right side air intake ?
Instead of two ?

Thanks to everyone for the comments. Much appreciated

Don't know when I will do the paintjob yet. Still a bit unfriendly weather here in Switzerland. Will start on the crew first I think.

Hi Richard, apart from the tracks and the IR equipment only the PE parts were not part of the kit. I used some leftover parts and PE sheet and small chains from Aber. What I forgot to mention is that I actually used a set from Atelier Infinite to create a working suspension. But you can't see anything of it from the outside.

Hi Ivan, unfortunately I have not got any Karaya cables left so the one from DML will have to do for now. I may change it later though

Hi Laurent, no particular reason really. Most parts are just dry fitted and I just forgot to put the closed shutter there.
