Rick have you considered trying vallejo's crackle medium. It might do the trick.

Hey Erik...yea, Dave mentioned it when I was working on the cart...unfortunately no LHS carries Vallejo, and mail is 7-14 days....I just don't have the patience to wait for the mail at this stage of the game.

I'm definately going to put Crackle on my get list on the next Mail Order. Thanks for the heads'up.

FINALLY

These came today....yippie.....my little guy will finally be able to take care of himself.

....funny thing, though, these are not for my Luch's, they are for my next build. I ordered these from Lawerence's hometown after ordering what I needed for the Luchs from my LHS....guess what showed-up first.

No problem, I'll use these now, and the other set on the next build.

Later,

Rick

Rick

Ain't life weird sometimes? I had some Lion Roar ones in my hand s on Saturday, but just couldn't get PMMS's review out of my head. So, I'll probably end up ordering them from Lucky models. ANY way, looking good Rick.

Hi everyone. well work continues on the rubber idler sections.

You can see here that I've got both sections covered with a base of the German Grey/German Camo Beige base...it took some work, but I finally got a good covering.

What I was seeing, however, was simply 2 big blocks of black on the front of my vehicle. I decided that it needed some "life". So, taking a page from figure painting, I decided to highlight and shadow the sections to help give them better definition and interest.

I know that I'm going to be covering them up again with base colors, but again, I know it's there and it will help me identify the individual rubber sections as I continue to add layers.

So now, in preperation of re-doing the base colors, I've added another layer of masking solution on areas of the rubber. I'm trying to be mindful of final appearance here, keeping definition between the sections, and only applying the mask on the parts that I'll want to show as rubber. Glossy areas are the masking solution.

So in summary I have so far: masked certain areas of the original base, applied rubber colors, and masked over certain areas of the rubber.

Next, repplication of the base colors so that it can be peeled off....it kind of seems logical, you need to put it on in order to take it off.

Take care, thanks for looking

Rick

Coming along nicely Rick

Erik, those rubber things are rubber paddings for the idler wheels.
