Panther G part deux

Hi all,

I decided to post a part 2 to my panther thread as the old one was pitifully long. Here is the start of the painting process, as it were.

First shot is an overall. (please forgive the poor quality of the photographs, as I am getting used to my new camera.)

The next shot shows the awful result after a hard days work. I don't really know the exact cause, but I am assuming the paint dried before hitting the surface. I will however not give in. I'll sand it down smooth as possible, and continue on.

Thanks for looking.

Laz

Larry, what is this? A Panther with Paint?

Good luck with the sanding, I'm sure that it will work-out!

Good to see some paint on this guy- I've read your previous thread and the build looked really good, too bad about the paint but it looks fixable, what brand/colour did you use?

Do you have a final scheme in mind yet?

Good luck with the paint job!
Anthony

Hi Anthony,

Thanks for the following. Yes I think it's fixable with a little patience. The paint seems to be really tough. It is a quick drying (duh) primer from Krylon .

It was sprayed into a bottle then thinned with laquer thinner before putting through my airbrush.

The paint scheme is 242 of the 17th PD in Czechoslavakia, late 45, around the balaton area I think.

Alright Larry! I'm sure that it will all work out, I've seen car guys start out with a rough finish and get a spectacular gloss in the end!

Good method is to spray a nitro thinner onto model. It will smooth the surface of paint. It works - I've checked
