turret is pretty much finished. textured the mantlet a touch more and the front turret armor plate as this section was cast as well. the rest is rolled so i left it pretty much alone to exentuate the parts that i did texture. the cupola was textured also since it was cast. all was done with a few applications of mr. surfacer 1000. since this is a late DB panther, I added the spare wheel brackets to the rear sections of the turret sides. i made these from plastic strip and some old PE parts i cut up from my the spares box. i have a couple Aber mg's to put on this thing but i'll save those for later. let me just say, this new alpine commander is awesome. i think he's my new favorite commander figure. fits in their like a glove and i love his sideways pose. i highly recommend him to anyone looking for a winter panther commander. comes with two heads so i'll pick one out and add some headset wiring, etc.. when the time comes. anyway, here's how it turned out. i still have some things i want to change up on the hull before moving forward but i should have this one buttoned up pretty soon. on a construction note, i know these things are made in multiple pieces to add detail but i had a really hard time getting the multi-part turret to go together properly. i had it all put together and glued and then discovered that when i added the debris shield over the mantlet it was way off center. had to throw the acetone to it and take it all apart and redo it. the front section just seems to want to be off centered where the mantlet doesn't line up properly with the debris shield which is attached the main hull part not the front hull plate where the mantlet is attached. maybe i'm just an idiot but i had trouble with it. finally got it to where it would work but had to do some filling and such to make it fit.

anyway, here are the pics. as always, thanks for looking guys and feel free to chime in with any critiques good or bad.

on another note and just as an FYI, the lion roar barrel doesn't fit far enough into the mantlet unless you wallow the mantlet out on the back side so that the barrel can go all the way through it. after that, you can slide it in until the point where it expands to a larger side coincides with the mantlet opening as it should. if not, it sticks out past that and looks really odd.
