Making workable hinges-Another way

This technique will work with any hinge that has the tabs.


First thing I do is roll up the tabs a little with a dental pick or any small round tool:


Here's how it will look when fitted together:

with the tabs up like that it forms a nice little trough for the wire to lay in.

Then I use Tamiya tape to tape the whole works down right on the bench top:


If the hinge as multi tabs I go ahead and bent the center and end tabs around the wire to help keep the wire centered while I bend the rest of the tabs over:

like so


To tighten the tabs around the wire I use my metal ruler to back up the opposite side while I take a small flat blade screw driver to tuck the tabs around the wire:

When done switch sides and repeat.

When that's done untape and trim the wire off,finished:


This is just the way I do it,there are others.

Panzer I wasn't trying to steal your thunder, some of us poor folks don't have all that mechanized equipment like you've got and we've got to do it the Redneck way.
