Also great theory on the paint issues and on perhaps making the top to look open topped from the air, really interested to see what you do there
? You must have misunderstood me. I will still do the top in flat green. I just think the sides and maybe a bit of the back could be in yellow. My references to the planes were that they could easily pick this reuse from the air whether it was green or not.
Thanks for the post..
Ian.

FWIW, one thing I have discovered after a little research, this tank (and I believe the others as well) did have the muzzle brake on before it was knocked out/abandoned. I have one pic of it shortly after the battle covered in snow and the muzzle brake is still there.

Cheers,
Mike
Thanks for the info mike. Now I will have to put opn the muzzle break......But I was having so much fun without it. Oh well.

Ian.

progress on the paint

I managed to get back to my M10 finally in between my BR 52 progress. I have deicted it fairly ruffed-up but have held back on the deep scraches and chips. I have also made the reer deck and rear turret plate show signs of dark yellow while the new sheet metal is more green . I figure the second hand Panthers would have been difficult to clean-up and the paint might well have been a light blow over at the rear. I also depicted the insides of the sheet metal as unpainted, with some light surface rust. I alsopainted over the white circle around the star as per the references for B7. I had some fun with this part trying to capture the painted over effect that was starting to come -off. Again, I think
this was probably done in the feild as it was the only vehicle with the ring painted out.

Base coat was in Vallejo acrylics (German cammo set colors) to achieve a nice variation in the base tones before allpying artist's oils and pigments.

Life's so very funny, you just need to remember to laugh [note to the clowns].

Why would the clowns not let people into the tent? What's the point of the show if they don't? .

Update - tracks weathering , willys jeep

Finished the tracks and put them on plus a little more work on weathering the edges and the dark yellow undercoat at the back of the turret.
I also started painting the willys jeep but it is not finished yet,

THE WILLYS IS QUITE BEATEN -UP AND VERY SECOND HAND WHICH IS I THINK IS HOW THE GERMANS WOULD HAVE RECIEVED IT. wOULD THEY HAVE FIXED THE PAINT? BRAND NEW WOULD BE SUSPECT. ANYWAY I JUST WANTED TO BEAT IT UP REGARDLESS.
Ian.
