Siim

Siim,
this could be editing or maybe the two photos were taken at different times and the swastika is graffitti added after the war by local kids? Would a swastika like this have been added by the unit -possibly but there is about the same chance that it is post war.

Thank you all for the replies and comments.
Always welcome - glad you like the idea as this kind of thing keeps the interest there for me. I really love investigating the possibilities with late war German armour.
Plushy, what an honour to be bevis and buttheaded!
Well the tank is still at the same stage and needs some small fixups, body work, hits and then the hand painting to build up the paint job to look better and more detailed. The barrel will be left in steel finish and slightly rusty. This will be done with a mixture of Artists oils and the paints I have already used.
.....
This last shot is just thrown in to show some bits that I will start to add for damage/detail around the engine bay- wrecked rill surround, engine bay deck lid support and I have seen a couple of shots where the crew jam one of the fenders in between the mufflers and the body - so I might do that with the brass fender.
Next up is the base and building - CUSTOM DIORAMICS . This is an older one I had on another dio that I have kept [ this originally was on a slightly bigger base with my JS2 on it but I felt it was too big and pulled it apart - the JS2 ending up on a small base and the building in the cupboard]. It will need some color changes to the masonary on the front as I don't like the yellow ;it will need a bit of a up date all round, however, it won't require too much which makes it perfect for the quick fix project. The Hotel sign is only blue tacked at present.
.................
The tank will go in between the building and the rubble at the front but I am still fiddling around with what angle to use. I will continue to cover the base with modelling clay[white parts] and then start aplying the rubble and get a impression in this for the Tiger to sit. The board is just MDF and will probably just get a black surround with red felt underneath.

HELP QUESTION ...... has anybody got any photo refs of the front guard area directly above the tracks with the guards ripped off?
I am after the detail underneath [hinge mounts] that would be left with the guards missing. Thanks

Nice progress!

Well now that I look at the piture more carefully (the last picture on this page: http://www.fprado.com/armorsite/tiger2.htm )I can see that the front plate camo does not match that well and it looks edited for shure. Sorry for the confusion.

Siim
