Smile Back On Track

Well I am back to the model and things are starting to be reasonably normal again.
Larry, thanks for the thoughts. My son is back home and recovering from 2 'ops', so we are keeping our fingers crossed. I'm really over living out of a hospital ward!
Hi to everybody ...............
Stuke, heaps of glue so far.
Ray, nice to see you round here. I like the avatar.... the horror, the horror.
I will post a bunch of progress shots here soon so see you all then.

Step 4 /5/9/10

Well I have been doing a bit more and have pressed on passed step 4 without doing any filler yet.
.......
.......
Step4 & 5 is about adding more of the support structure to the chassis . I have a fair bit of work here with injection pin marks and seam lines that I will get to at the last possible moment.

...............................................
I need to add some detail to the front of the cylinder casings, as there are some extra wires that should be there.

nicely detail though .

After doing some research it seems that trumpeter have possibly modelled the Polish built version due to the flat topped cylinder casings but , like tanks, there are so many versions with slight detail changes that it is hard to know with my limited reference.
I skipped the cabin construction as I want to add some extra detail from the photo's provided by Plushy. I jumped to Step 9 here and started on the boiler.....

I've still got to add G31.

the seem line needs some serious work as does the one on the boiler........

The door on the front of the bioler has more detail to go on but it is very nicely moulded.

I placed the boiler onto the chassis support asm just to get the effect. Oh toot toot!.....oooh, it's finally starting to look like a train!

Well, thats the easy stuff done. I now have a bit of filling and sanding as well as working out where I go from here. Because I am going for the Red and Black painted version I will have to detail and paint the chassis before I attach the Boiler etc. These also look good with a big white swastiker on the boiler nose.

Same with the cab and I still want to try and get some brass from voyager as well. This will all have to be done in the right order.
At this point I am thinking of joining this one to the Karl Gerat that I have and doing another one later in the splinter cam, towing the tanks etc. I don't know as yet as I am still trying to make up my mind.
I thoroughly recomend this kit as it is really a fun topic and a break from tanks without having to leave the sphere of armor - it still has the bolts and steel, just no gun - areally big fuzzy tank
