Piling on the skull idea...

as I am very late to this post - I've just received the two skulls I ordered for my daughters halloween gig... I saw the avatar post about the same time they went on order, and I've been gathering up components ever since. I had thought about getting them kits, but found resin cast models for about $20.

So - hopefully you won't be offended, Ian - but I think it will be great fun to come up with my own version (Ausf B, if you will?) - I'll not use it as an avatar..

Lacking the requisite FW-190 cowling, I've decided to travel in another direction - I'll post photos this weekend, but after canvasing the garages and junk drawers, I've amassed a fair bit of contraband to modify one of them...

- 2 old cell phones
- a half-*ssed lazer level
- an old garage door opener (the motor unit)
- a "golf range" sight (if you've seen me golf, you'd understand why it will get used here)
- some kids toys (for internal lighting)
- various odd lenses (Hmmmm - the old M-17 Protective mask over lenses may actually get used for something before I die).

I've got a plan for a weapon sighting unit alongside the ear/temple area, and some other fun stuff.

I doubt I'll get it completely done before Haloween, as they expect to have them available, but at least one of them will be a little more cool than the OOB version.

More soon - I'll Vbench it, in fact. Thanks again for the for the very cool idea - and I'm looking forward to stepping outside of the 1:35 into a more free/creative zone.
