DML EARLY model JS2 set somewhere in Poland late 1944. Actually this was originally going to be Berlin but changed to poland just to highlight the early JS2. [Still could be Berlin also]. I have added Kasten tracks, turned barrel, resin mantlet, rebuilt the damaged guards and fuel tanks in foil, mod'd busted headlight and added some missing bits here and there. The figure is from an early VP release that came with a base. I added a new white metal head and gave him some good gear - PPSH, stick grenades etc. He has been intergrated into the ground work. The piece of building is from a Rauthaus [VP] and wall paper is Custom Dioramics. The barbed wire is from Hudson and Allen. Ground work is scatch and VP bricks. Corrugated iron is Aluminium from a train shop.
This one is a bit older than my others here but I think it is still showable. It started life on a larger base with a larger building which I was not happy with.....so I transferred to the smaller display. It allowed the model to come forward more than the background.
This is the shot that gave me the idea...............

Hey good to hear from you Larry. Thanks glad you like it! I have been away for a couple of days and it feels great to be back. I must confess though I was unsure whether to post this one so you have put a smile on my face....not the reaction that I though i would get. The detail was really fun and that is what I set out to try to capture...a knockout with heaps of crap everywhere and the lone German waiting for the next wave that he knows he won't hold back. I added real broken glass [fine] that I broke up and crushed with a Mortar and Pestle so that when you turn the dio in the right light it sparkles back from amongst the rubble like a real scene. I also loved the gas mask head annd purchased a whole bag of metal VP heads just to get this one[years ago - 1990].

Hi Ian,

I love that Dio!

Just one question, is that a Street sign? Do you know what it means? It says "Surgical Dept."

Fantastic work, Ian!! As usual, I am struck momentarily speechless at your work.... this is so realistic. The attention to detail and the wonderful ground work really set this diorama apart.

Those sepia photoshop shots look like they came straight out of some WW2 archives!

Keep up the great work!!

Cheers!

Jackal

OH NO I took a punt with the signs again ....... but I think it still works... hospital sign on the other side so this would be a directional one for general use.
 just got away with that. I think I will check on translations with future signs now that I have you guys to lean on!
Thanks Amba

Thanks to all above for the positive feedback.
Always welcome.
