Bergpanther coming from Tiger Models

Received some titillating pics from Joe Bakanovic proprietor of Tiger Models regarding an upcoming Bergpanther resin interior addition. First, and this is important, I need to let you guys know these are test castings and a test build. He will be making some changes to the pieces in these pictures to
correct fit problems. I think there was some questions about radios and placement of- any one have any info?

This is good news! I did a faint attempt a while back to build one from the old Italeri kit, combined with the Verlinden update.... but gave it up as I felt it was too much work to get a remotely accurate Bergepanther.
Please keep us posted on the progress on this set, I look forward to seeing that whinch!

James

As far as I know (I spent nearly a year building a Berge out of DML, Italeri, TMD and Verlinden parts with a lot of scratchbuilding as well), the radio setup was pretty standard Panther, ie over the transmission. The other thing I note is that I believe there were two additonal seats mounted crosswise behind the driver and codriver with a common backrest.

Seeing what is proposed has me drooling already - the sales count as far as I am concerned has already reached one !

Regards

Rob

more pictures as we progress, so you will know when we are close to release. I hope to have it ready by the end of December of the first week of January. These big projects alwasy find a way to take longer than I had hoped.

Also, yes, this conversion is designed to work on a DML Panther D/Early A hull. We will make the late A and G hull conversions a bit later.

Hope this helps answer some questions. I welcome any input you guys might have - especially if you have pictures of the radio set MOUNTED in the berge.

some words from Joe about the radio set up and questions about it.
Quote:
James,

Thanks. I actually have that picture. In fact, that is the very picture
that raised my question(s). If you have time, maybe you can explain to your
guys that the third radio receiver should sit directly over the rear of the
radio assembly that you see in this picture - but it does not appear to be
there. I see the headset box in the picture, but that set on the very rear
of the radio in a standard Panther and would actually be in the way of the 2
extra seats here.

The question is this: did they discard the 2nd receiver, or did the somehow
mount it farther forward so it was out of the weather?

Also, another question this picture brought up. What is in the lower right
corner of the driver's compartment behind the driver's left shoulder ad
against the hull roof support? We thought it was ammo bags for the MG until
we saw a clear picture. It appears to be some sort of rack, but we have no
idea what it really is. Any thoughts?

Hope this all makes sense. Maybe your guys will have some suggestions.

Thanks.
