Hey guys....

Ken, holy smokers awesome ride you built there. Funny, I did the same with the bottom bracket, I made the pedals workable....for awhile.... until I realized I was going insane!

The exhaust is really easy. When I sprayed the brown camo I also sprayed the exhausts - that became my base color. Then I just mix some plaster powder, some paint ( I believe that I used Vallejo's Red Leather) into a paste and brushed it on. Once dried I gave it some washes of burnt sienna and black oils, then finally the lower one got a dusting of Mig's Vietnam Dirt and the top got a dusting of Mig's Gulf War Sand.

I think the red is the perfect color choice for the bike.
Of course it is...that's the color of my road bike!!!!

Later,

Rick

looks very nice Rick. It has that look of real painted and weathered steel, instead of just plastic. I don't know how you manage to build and paint so fast, my projects go on for months or years on end....

Hi Rick,

Thanks a lot for the good tip for making such a nice and convincing exhaust!
The muffler looks really like heated thin metal! Great work!

Best regards,

Notger

Hey Rick!

Portland has those yellow bikes that the City left around town for people to use for free....they all vanished within weks....perhaps it should be one of those on the back !

Seriously though....what a treat ! I too am amazed by the speed and precision of you workmanship!

Hi everyone. Well, it's been some time between posting on this one.

The process continued of adding filters and washes, slowly making the vehicle appear darker and dustier.

Here are a few photos of where it stands at the moment. I figure that I'm probably 95 -98% complete with the vehicle...still a few smaller things to attend to. As usual, a final bit of weathering will be done once it is place upon it's base.

Please, take a look and as always I will look forward to your honest comments.

The base and figures are coming along as well, perhaps final shots later this week.

Hi Rick,

what an awesome and breathtaking Pz IV B...
The dust on it looks good, as it is not too much and not too less. I like it
I'm afraid I have forgotten to ask how you did the nice dirty/dusty lower side hull which can be seen on post #104 and on the first photo from today?
It's difficult to describe, there is not much mud, but still very dirty...
Rick, this is really a nice IV B!!!
Do you have already started on the base? And what should the base look like?

Best regards,

Notger
