Happy New Year Fletch,

ANy pics on this build yet? Come on you can do it. BTW, I haven't read all of Scott's very informative pieces yet, but RLM dunkelgrun I believe would be RLM 71. It's very dark, almost blackish, well black green actually.

Careful, Laz . . . "black green" was a different colour, RLM 70 Schwarzgrün, and was used with RLM 71 Dunkelgrün for the early-war splinter camouflage. It was also used for propellor blades and other sundry parts, but was rarely used by itself as an uppersurface colour. You can see an example of this scheme in the Tristar decal options, on the aircraft marked RR+KM.

Cheers

Scott, looks like you are the person I need to turn to if I have trouble painting my Bf-110.

Anytime, Siim. I built aircraft for many years, and researched many different colour schemes for decal production. I dumped my magazines, but I still have quite a few books on the subject. Send me an email or PM and I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Happy New Year
Scott

Happy new year all!

Many thanks for the comments, tips and suggestions from: Andrey, Scott, Lawrence, Marek, Siim, Marco, Kevin, Luiz, Jan, Rick, John, Larry, Robert, Bruno, and Andrew. This is a popular thread.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've had a bad cold/flu for a week or so now, but I'm starting to feel better.

I was correct in my hunch that the F drive was OK, I backed up my other computer and booted from that computer, and everything is OK, so all my references are back up and all. I'll upload the sbs shots I took earlier, and I will be assembling the fusalage today, not sure if I will paint the cockpit first, as there are some joints between it and the fusalage parts that need to be filled, and I like to apply my paint all in one go as much as possible. it's a pretty pen assembly, so I think I can hit all of it with the airbrush. James, you paint and assemble a lot, but you use enamel don't you?

So be patient guys, I will be updating today.

Happy new year all !

Good news, Fletcher !

On a french forum ("Les Colleurs de plastique"), I'm writing a post where I group together everything on the Fieseler Fi 156 "Storch" : books, articles, links (reviews, walkarounds...), kits and detail sets (PE, decals...)
As well as isolated photos (private or other)

It's in progress and thus far from being finished.
If it can help...

(Of course, it's in french !)

All the best,

Bruno "Le Tourbeux" GiLARD

Some did, some didn't. The first production model for the Luftwaffe, the Fi-156C-1, is the version chosen by Tristar, and did not have a rear-mounted MG. This was introduced with the Fi-156C-2 and retained in the main production version, the Fi-156C-3. I expect there will be a new canopy and MG15 offered in due course.
