Thanks for the comments and for following along!

M1grand – I will add weld lines only to the large brackets. I will not add them on the ones that wil end up been covered, like the track brackets.

Now it’s time for another update. I added the PE for the engine deck grills. Along with some of the tools and the rear hatch.

The kit provides the periscopes for the hatches in clear plastic. I used Tamiya clear green paint to give them a translucent look. Once this was done I placed them.

It’s kind of hard to see, but once in place I masked the front of the periscopes with a piece of tape so I won’t get any paint on them.

Next I started working on the tracks. This took a ridiculously amount of time because of all the small links. Almost 300 pieces per side!!

Finally the track was done, and I also glued both halves of the hull together. I made sure the tracks and road wheels were making proper contact before gluing them in place. I wanted to avoid the dreaded floating road wheels. I left out the outer road wheels since that would make painting them easier.

That’s it for today…

Until next time…. Model on!!

David!
Those traks look like a serious pain in the rear end, how long does it tke to assemble the full set of tracks?

Alex - Thanks for all the nice comments...

Rick!!!!!!!!!!! Ropi !!!!!!!!!!! Am I seen ghosts???

So nice of you guys dropping by and writing a few words… and yes I am still rocking…

Hope to see you again

Ropi – it took several weeks to get the tracks all done. They were quite a pain, but not the worst I’ve worked on.

Now for another update. A little more work on the beast and its almost ready for primer.

Hello again,
The beast finally got a coat of primer. I used Tamiya flat black for this and I made sure every nook and cranny got painted.

Once dry I gave it a base coat of Vallejo Dark Yellow and
after I applied a pre shade using Vallejo Dark Sienna. I airbrushed the color right along all the joints and details to create shadows. I didn’t try to be too neat here as I will be correcting it once the other colors were applied.

Started with the camo colors, dark green first.

Red Brown went on next.

Next I will be applying some oils to weather it out.

Until next time

dave
