I only have a couple images to post, but I figured that I might as well restart this thread, now that I have my vBench (I didn't have one the first time )

For those who have not seen it, I have been rebuilding this kit....I made it more than a year ago for a school project regarding "Axis Assualt Guns", but it started bugging me after a while...I had to put an interior in there, so I did...The Jaguar StuG III D...I had to rip off the old superstructure, and use a spare one...I also got the Lionroar P/e set, but it really blows, so I've been working on some spare stock fenders and the Aber set for this kit to help it out...hopefully, it will all turn out nicely (I KNOW...it's an ugly little monster!)

I have more images, but due to technical difficulties, they may have to wait a while (kind of why I've had a delay here in posting this)
All comments are welcome...

What don't you like about the Lionroar PE set? Just wondering.

Arron,
To me, the quality of the p/e is good, but at the same time, their 'research' is less than pleasing...a lot of the p/e parts didn't really line up properly when I worked on them and i had to do a lot of extra work just to work just to get the parts to fit...quite a few of the frets were just not user friendly...they also have lots of extra 'dumb' parts...I've begun to really prefer Aber because you can always 99.99% of the time trust the fit and quality of the parts....I'm sure Voyager and LionRoar will improve over time, but in the mean time, I'm going to have to stick with Aber p/e, for the most part anyway....

Thanks Marco...Spring Break is approaching and I'm looking forward to it...more time to relax and work on my models

Beware of the DAK D. There were not many, and they had some un-usual stowage racks, air filters and boogie wheel holders.

Hi R.C.

Interesting subject, you have chosen looks promising
Is it the original tracks from Dragon you have used ?
Remember that theese versions had extra torsions rods placed over the 6 road wheels, its one very special feathure for sonderverband 288!

Thanks Dan

No the tracks on the kit are Fruilmodel tracks....they should be the correct version based upon the photos of the captured StuG(s)...the Dragon tracks don't have the hallow guide horns...they have it for their early Pz III based kits, but not for these, for whatever reason

And trust me... I know all about the Torsion bars lol
Those were among the funny, sort of weird lost/replaced photos...The show the Tamiya roadwheels and the torsion bars...
