Hi !

Today I have many free time, so I decide to build test track link. 400 mm version for StuG IV. One link have 24 parts. Each track have 99 links.





Now it's time to start masive producktion

In the same time...I almost finish bottom hull. All covers are on the hull.





Also, escape hatch was added. In StuG IV still in the same place. Crew didn't have acces to the hatch...so it was welded from the inside.

A man was supposed to fit through this?! It looks kinda small, at least in the pictures. Is there any particular reason why this escape hatch was welded shut?

This is the best photo I found:



Pretty tide

And the reason of weld were amunitions parks. Blue line show where escape hatch was hide. Crew didn't have fast access to the hatch.



In Panzer IV this hatch was hide under the front, right seat:
