Haven't seen to many of the classics, but my favorites of the modern era would be Black Hawk Down and Band of Brothers. Tears of the Sun isn't too bad, and you can't go wrong with Where Eagles Dare.

Kelly's Heroes for the not-that-serious part (I'll also be interested by the new Tarantino film: Inglorious Basterds...), and Saving Private Ryan (and I also like Band of Brothers very much, although it's not a single film).

For me it would be A Bridge Too Far. I seen it at least a dozen times and still love it.

Just watched a movie with the guy who plays the latest Bond, in a movie called Defiance. It had some scenes with a mocked up Panzer
