Dagger, I have been spending a lot of time anylising the colors so I will put up some images which you should find interesting.

Gopher thanks, glad you enjoyed it.

Tony , good luck.

James, I have decided to make it fit a coffee table. I will then have a perspex box top made for it and keep it in my model room.

özgür. Thanx.

Talking "I hope I can keep it interesting"

"I hope I can keep it interesting"
That's what you said in post #13

That was definitely an understatement!

It is very interesting indeed, and I will still come and enter to see
what's next with this "Gerwertz Trammener"

A couple of extra details.

Hello, I realised there were a few extra details that needed doing- no paint just yet.
I added a number of round caps to the ends of both sides of the mounts for the bar bracing on the top of the vehicle. One in the shadows as well.I also worked on the underside of the engine hatch that will be open. A bit more sanding to be done though.
..

Both rear bars are now replaced.
.

I also realised that the firing platforms edging had not been put on. The kit did not provide enough of an edge. Threr were also 2 retaining clips on the middle of the front edge for the lower platforms. These were added (made from left over PE sprue). I presume these are for holding the platform in place when folded against the sides of the gun platform.

.

There is still more work to do on the tubes and holes along the side of the platform but at this point I have replaced the plastic tube with brass. I did this for 2 reasons, one was that the kit tube was too thin on the ends and the second being that I had split a tube and this needed replacing.
.........................

.

I did a bit more to the collar of the muzzle brake. Smooth off the transition of the scratched stuff - brass pipe to built up collar.

A box full of bits ready to go

I then gave all the major assemblies a grey 'check' coat for reviewing the surface texture effect as well as all fits, joins and filling. Sadly I hate this stage as it always results in more work, as in fixes on putty etc. I will return once these are done.

Started painting finally

I finally got over my fear of starting the paint on this project and went ahead. I have been tormenting myself over the coloring of the primer but have decided to go ahead with a number of ideas. The outside will be a lighter rusty brown color with a possible dirty dusty covering over a thin detiorating yellow or light grey. The interior will be a pink-red primer in a more colorful state. Sheeds and Sam have given me some info on some ideas that are being discussed around a late war primer being used that was a light grey in color and was even found under the red primer; so I will be doing a bit of this kind of thing with the interior at least.
I started with the base coating of all the parts with Tamiya acrylics........
.....................
and then made some fixups after the base coat showed up some sanding errors etc.
.........................................
................................

..................

The barrel has a 'shoddy' coat of black (on purpose) so that it will enhaced the oils when that coat is brushed on.
The cradle recieved fixups then a variation in tone for the different parts of the assembly. Once again this will aid the oils .

...................................

.............................................

The large springs will be straightend again when I finish. I will also need to add the small rod handle to the wheel as I broke this off as well as the small rod detail at the rear of the re-couperator.
The darker are in the first photos was covered in a lighter red brown by the second shots.
................................

The side sheilds were given a 'ghosty black' cover then a similar coat with red brown. I then did some random patches with a deeper red brown, a mix I did myself and finished with some panzer red brown.
...

..

.

.................................

I did the same to the front panel and the fighting cab, as well as the body and front. The front recieved a lighter coat though to keep its base nice and light for later. I also gave the front top plate a seperate treatment much like the sides. The barrel got some 'rusty' primer as well.
