Thumbs up

Nice project AF, I remember this one years ago....been awhile since I used to frequent here.

What happened to the front fenders? they looked so good...

Since you said you bought the Academy Grant, I think the Lee fenders are included in that kit, as I have it, maybe they will work if the PE ones are toast?

Also, for the Grant, Academy used to sell the correct Bogie sprues as separate items since the kit ones sit too high.

Regards, Paul

The fenders just have a coat of paint is all. Course, since I did this, I had to leave town due to a family medical emergency. Haven't been back since before I posted the last group of images. While here, I can do some shopping at the awesome M&MModel or around the corner at Games Plus it's not a total loss. I picked up the Aber kits for my FAMO, and some paints, and some small tubes to use as 1/48 machine gun tubes.

I have many long lingering ongoing projects too! I feel ya! May I offer one more thing I noticed? Your engine hatches are turned the wrong way. The grated opening should be towards the front of the tank and not to the rear. I know the set of M3A5 pictures you're probably referencing. that tank's engine deck is reversed.

Here's the correct layout

Yeah, I don't think that's gonna happen.

Maybe the next one.

So, after working on this for years, I airbrushed with Tamiya olive drab yesterday. I got a slightly rough, maybe 1200 grit sandpapery finish. How do I recover?

The grittiness turned out to be something of a blessing in disguise. Sanding it down produced a nice effect. Believe it or not, there's no deliberate chipping.

It's been four years seven months since this began. I may be "finished" tonight. No decals and no commander, so I can get it in the show tomorrow, but still, show-worthy, I think.

.... or not. Sliced my finger open with the exact and had to go get stiches.
