Thumbs up Making correct roadwheels for Pz III

Hey Folks

Here is a little "how to do" on making more correct roadwheels for a Pz III.

First you have to find some reasonly corret roadwheel for that I chose to use the roadwheels from Tamiya. I ordered the sprue frame for the Pz III ausf L as sparepart thrugh Rainbow Ten from Japan and ordered the etchrings from Part(you could use the same from Aber, but theese was a little less expensive)

Here is the cleaned rings and Tamiya roadwheels

Next you have to use some plastic rod from Evergreen in diameter 1.0 mm
and cut them in an even length of 3.2 mm. For that I use my "The Chopper" from "North West Short line". That makes things easy

Here you can see the stiffing rods glued in place and the etch rings glued on, to be sure that you before you glue. has used your motor tool to drill a
little hole in 1 mm in diameter for every stiffing rod so this helps the alligment of the rods (hope you understand this)

Next it should be a simple task to mate the two parts together

Here is some more wheels- looking good right

Hope that this is of some use for you all

It is very useful, thanks for posting this.

Seems like I have a Pz III that needs its wheels fixed.

Panzer III wheels

The new Dragon Stug and Pz III kits have the wheels already corrected.
