It's been sittin' for the winter and took it out for a go today- only trouble is the batteries wore down fast so I have them on a reconditioning cycles right now- hopefully that will get rid of the memory.
Here's a pic or two...

It's looking good!

Is it Tamiyas 1/16?

Did you use any of the Aber sets on it?

Yep it's the Tamiya 1/16th scale kit. Since it is drivin' out of doors through some rough terrain/grass and other obstacles, the use of Aber details would not be a wise choice in my veiw. Because of the potentail for damage while using off road the kit needs to have as much hardiness as possible. Aber fenders, clasps and such would get ripped off with every use I'm sure and would really be an added headache that would not add to the idea of fun while using this R/C toy. If I had a static version of the kit I would definetly use the Aber set.

I did add some scratch-built engine intake screens.

Here is a little movie showing a recharge under way.

I was walking down the alley one day comin' back from the store and in one of the dumpsters was some screen I imagine was from a door/window. It was the perfect size- these little coincidences happen all the time. I mean I was right at that stage in the build...
any way I made a frame from plastic strips and glued the screen to back of that.

How durable are the plastic tracks?

I imagine they would be prone to wear if running over asphalt or gravel?

But it's a very nice kit, and it's at the top of my wishlist just after a new PowerMac G5, and a PowerBook, and a ... Guess I'll just have to dream about it for a while yet :-)

Please post more pics!

cheers!
