Wiki is your friend:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landkre...._1500_Monster

This thing was a monstrosity....you know that Soar Art "Dora" railgun? The one that's like 6' long in 1/35th? This thing would've been a self-propelled version!!!

"The Landkreuzer P. 1500 Monster was a prototype ultraheavy tank meant as a mobile platform for the Krupp 800mm Schwerer Gustav artillery piece, in fact, a mobile grand cannon.

It was 42 m (138 ft) long, weighed 1500 tonnes, with a 250 mm hull front armor, 4 MAN U-boat (submarine) diesel engines, and an operating crew of over 100 men.

The main armament was an 800 mm Dora/Schwerer Gustav K (E) railway gun 10 times bigger in diameter than modern tank cannons, and a secondary armament of two 150 mm sFH 18/1 L/30 howitzers and multiple 15 mm MG 151/15 machine guns."

A little overkill don't you think?

Humans spend more money on killing people than helping them......

I've seen photos of a 1/72 model of a P1000 Ratte somewhere on the net, bloody massive thing it was, basically used a turret off a Gneisenau-class heavy cruiser as its main armament. I read an article on it a while ago and they reckon if the thing had ever been built it wouldn't have lasted long, although it would have been impervious to ground attack it wouldn't have lasted long against a bomber strike or naval bombardment if it had got too close to the coast. The only way to camouflage it would have been to try to make it look like a building of some sort...

EDIT looky here for a drawing of how big the P1500 Monster would have been... I quite like that actually.
