DML Sd.Kfz. 166 Stu.Pz.IV "Brummbaer" Mid Production

Got this kit today

Here are the paint schemes suggested.

Before I start gluing things together I want to do some research on this vehicle. My first order of business is to find out if there are any good photos and references showing these paint scheme versions.

Then I want to discover how many of this version were made and where these were distributed, which units etc. I think I need to get an exact vehicle to base my build on before I start the construction.

Yep, John had a few. Also some nice new Griffon items for Panzer IV's showed up as well. Wonder if the turret skirting fits better than the Aber one? I had to pass on it this time. Good luck.

I bought a magazine in Luxembourg, think it is French. In it, it shows the Brumbär passing the Tiger 1 and I think there is a colour plate in it as well....not sure becouse I am at work right now so I can confirm it but the photo I mentioned is there.
Regards
Ebbe

Don't wait too long...

I'm chomping to see how this builds up. I'm pacing around the house waiting for my Tristar early to show up in the mail.

This one, as an Italy vehicle, will require Zimm - as all of these had it applied at the factory (or during the refit in Vienna). If you want we could start a Stupa picture posting to assemble our various references. I see a slew of these being built across the Early to Mids in the months to come.

So while I try and get into the reference books to figure out the specific features, (feel free to pipe in!), I'll repost these pics taken and shared on the net by James Morgan.
