Hot here as well, and I'm reading once again my thesis...
Laura, I imagined you had Italian origins!
I have relatives in Parma, but I never went there... and I also fell in love with a beautiful girl from Rome who didn't understand anything and went to study at Parma University...

you should definitely give parma and the surrounding country a try it's a beautiful spot ... castello torrechiara, castello felino, il valle di cavaliere, bescello (you know why i mention brescello ), canossa is not far away and of course the food ... prosciutto, salami, parmeggiano reggiano (no - i refuse to eat grana padano!), coppa, ciobar, aranciata, tortelli alla zuccha/patate/erbette, chicche della nonna, coniglio, homemade bonati vino ... .oO(note to myself: stop drooling)

We had a typhoon warning today (first one for the year!) and everyone in Hong Kong got to go home early!

Here's a map of Typhoon Pabuk's twisty trail

Basically, it's hotter than a snake's ass in a wagon rut.

Typhoon? Whoa... Sounds bad indeed Luckily there are no similar phenomens here. It's been warm last few days, about 24-25 Celsius. Finally summer came here

Wow! such exceiting stuff! Here in the Great Pacific Northwest we've had a very comfortable summer...even on the cool side. Lots of days in the upper 70's to mid 80's with varying amounts of sunshine. The nights have almost always cooled into the upper 50's - 60's so sleeping has been no problem with the window's open.

Hang on Lawerence!

Actually, it was so calm, no wind or rain that I reckon it's a conspiracy by the Gov't to declare typhhon warning so that they can shut down the stock market as it plummeted today
