Yep, a great little kit. I've started it but don't have that much time lately, so I haven't done much on it yet. I'll hopefully get some pics up soon.

Siim, you're right, there is more flash and such then normal, but I don't mind it much. Accuracy is paramount IMO.

Those ammo rounds seem to have a slightly odd shape, or is it me ?

Great looking kit. Yet another added to the list !

That's pretty cool. Best looking plastic jack block I've ever seen. I assume PE straps and such are provided? From LQ's build, it looks like you can give this thing the Aber treatment OOB!

The jack block sort off concaved in due to the fact it was molded solid. It not as bad as a sink hole. Anyway, Tristar does include a PE bracket and straps for it.

OK, finaly able to post some progress

I assembled the transmission:

Next, I did the radio frame:

annealed:

folded,

I soldered it together.

There is another piece to add to each side of the frame:

Did the radio fuse (?) boxes.

drilled out the holes to add wires later. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the Marder III?

Next, I did the brake drum unit:

I annealed the stips of PE and wrapped them around my knife. Turned out to give them an almost perfect curvature:

Test fit:

All done:

They were actually easier then I expected. Just a bit time consuming.

Did the terribly difficult steering assembley.

THe top cover piece had a sink mark in it that needs to be fiilled:

With that done, I cutt out all the PE bits and organised them on a strip of tape:

The next steps were eased considerably by Laz 1's diagram

I started out by folding over the tabs and soldering them down:

Next, I soldered all of the washers to their appropriate parts. I used an apropriatly sized drill bit to align them while soldering:

done:

Here are all the washers attached:

Added the plastic bits:

and with not very little trouble, was able to get everything together:

I basicaly threaded all the PE onto the post, held the top cover piece to the brake drum assemble, and zapped it with poly glue.

THen I got everything into position and used a mini clothes pin to hold everything together. I then placed a drop of CA on the PE bits and let it set up.

I also assembled the bulkhead piece:

So here is everything I have done as of 9:10

More soon, hopefully
