HI! Time for another update, doing the lasts modifications to the back area of the main platform, this time I’m working on the elevators. This are modified to better look like the original ones.
First a correction note on the elevators pulleys, the hook lock was on the outside of the hook
But it actually goes on the inside. Thanks my friend for pointing it out!

The hook lock is shortened and moved to the inside of the hook

With that corrected I started to work on the elevators
On the original elevators there was enough space for a soldier to be on behind the cart.

As you can see the kits elevators are too short to accommodate a figure with the cart

I started by removing the squares on the sides of the platform support, this should be the
Wheels that runs along the elevator channels

Squares removed and the area sanded smooth

The wheels are made with 1.5 styrene with a ¼ diameter punch

Now it looks like this

Now time to fix the platforms, all the details are sanded off

The extension parts are made with .80 styrene sheet

You need four 14 x 40mm pieces for the tops
Eight 7 x 14mm pieces for the sides and
Four 7 x 40 pieces for the front

With this parts you add 14mm to each side of the elevator

Glue the 14 x 40 part to the top and the two 7 x 14 parts to the sides

Finish with the 7 x 40 on the front

Here you can see the difference now

28mm longer

28mm longer

The new rails for the carts are made with 1 x 4mm styrene strip and are
Now a single rail and not a channel as it comes in the kit

In this photo you can see the rails and are a single rail and not a channel

This are cut to 2.5mm wide

With the rails in place the floor is made with the forming mesh

The hand rails and the top are glued back

After studying the photos of the elevator area ”I think” these are wheels to aid in the
Side to side movement of the cart to align it with the munition car

To make the wheels I used a 4.8 x 1.55mm long styrene tube with a 2.38 x 2.45mm long
Styrene tube inside it

Cut 4 discs of the 4.8 tube, 1.55mm long
]

Cut 4 2.38 x 2.45mm tubes and insert it inside of the 4.8mm tube

Using photo eched leftovers of 2.8mm wide make four -4 x 4 x 4mm u shape brackets to hold the wheels, the total length should be 12mm not 10.38 as in the drawing

It should look like this

Now this parts I believe are a brake system for the wheels, again using photo eched
Leftovers of 2.35 x 8mm long, bend one end at 3mm in u shape, this is the end
Where the cable connects

Glue one to each wheel, make sure it faces the other when placed side by side

This is my interpretation of the system, the long sloped part on top I think is some kind
Of Brake pedal as it looks connected to the cable on the middle

Glue a piece of 2mm styrene of 4 x 5mm in the middle of the front part of the elevator
And drill a .85 hole on the center

Next I glued two pieces of 6 x 18mm long channel to each side

Now the wheels are glued in place

A piece of 3 x 24mm long channel is used for the brake pedal, it is sanded at an angle
At 8mm in one end, a piece of .85 soldering wire is glued from one wheel to the other

The hand rails are glued back in place and a verlinden resin bolt is glued to each wheel

The finished elevators

And the finished elevators, now with enough room for the figure

The mods on the elevators now made me change the main platform to match the
New shape of the rails and to accommodate the extra length of the carts, so that is next.

Thanks for looking!

Pure WOW. That's an epically outstanding work you are doing here.
Keep it coming.
