Thanks guys!

Luiz, this is my only model. I just checked the instructions (I use to note the day I started a model on the first page), the Elefant was started September 6th ... 2007 ... To my defense, I'm a university student and often many months away from home, studying in another city

~~~~~
Unfortunately there's only little time for modelling at the moment because there's mostly something else I need to do. I hope I get to post a last 2011 update tomorrow, right in time before the new year starts.
Mini-Update!
The brackets for the rear corner persicopes were finally made from scrap PE (Lion Roar Panther A PE). How these brackets exactly look and how they were operated remains one of the many mysteries of the Elefant. To my knowledge, there's only one clear photo of the apparatus, but it does not show the piece in a clear angle. So what you see here is the result of my humble guess-work. I'm pretty sure it's not a correct depiction of the real thing, but leaving it out completely would have also been disappointing, although it can't be seen from anywhere later.
* = This bracket was denouned as a MP40 ammo bracket in the last update. I know better know. It was used to store the prisms on regular travel. This also tells why there's a leather strap above the bracket in the real tank (and a sheet strip in the model).
The ammo box for the "Signalpistole" is also in place now.
* = On/Off switch for the ventilating unit and very last cable have been attached.
I hope to get another update done tomorrow. If not, y'all have a good start in the new year and don't drink too much
Cheers,
Johannes
very impressive as always. it's surprising how much of this is visible through the rear hatch though you may have to put a light in there so people can really appreciate it
Hi buddies,
oh well, the "last last year update" didn't work out ... just as anything didn't during the last week. I don't wanna whine about it because it's not modelling-related -- just let me tell you that the last couple of days were almost unbearable. As a matter of fact, only little was achieved in the Elefant. Still, here's what has been done.
The armored covers for the rear corner periscopes were fixed in their places with screws/bolts and their respective washers.
Here's another picture, just to let the first one have some company
This is all, sorry for that.
Thanks for checking in and your comments before,
Johannes
Johannes, sometimes it is not the quantity but the quality that counts!
Thanks for the replies.
Kostas, you'd rather have to break in my house, I'm afraid My most important references are available in printed form.
Saúl, yes, of course you're right. But when you can only model for short time intervals and end up having achieved next to nothing in that little time you had despite all the appetite for modelling you brought back home, it's just frustrating.
Maybe next time it will go better.
Regards,
Johannes
Awesome work as always - the totality of the work really hits home in that shot of the casement tipped forward.
Wow, now I feel like a whiner for complaining about only getting a few hours a week at the bench.
