Those little chips make a world of difference. Very natural looking. Tools look great too.

Hello!
This idea was inspired by a colour photo from the cover of StuG.III-IV at War (Waldemar Trojca and Karlheinz Munch) http://www.landmarkmilitarybooks.com...s-pr-1881.html. Only commanders hatch is gray. I painted it this way because of a nice contrast

Best regards and thanks for all replies and thoughts!

Sergiusz, beautiful work, lots to learn from you both on painting and weathering! One question: is there any specific method (colors?) for painting the wooden part of the shovel? It's astonishingly real-looking...
cheers,
Zsolt

Hello Guys!
I decided to take a break with the chipping work for a moment, and focus on the wheels set After some washes and chips I started the mud work. My job was to achieve the damp and partially wet effect over the dry and lighter base. Some oil stains are also visible. For a first time I used the Gunze Mr. Metal Color (212 Iron) and polish it with the Dremel tool (lowest turns) and pointed felt tip! The paint is incredibly rigid and stays on place! After that I also used a soft pencil for final touches. All used paints are visible on the last photo. There is a plaster in a yellow jar. I also used the white spirit and pigment fixer for fixing the pigments.

Now I must return to the chips and go ahead with the mud on the lower hull!

Best regards!
Sergiusz

C'mon, stop posting pictures of pieces from the real thing! It's becoming clearer that you've got a real StuG in your yard everytime you post another update.

No, seriously, this is by far one of the most amazing builds I've ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing with us and especially for the excellent pictures and the nice explanation and all.

My hat's so off to you.

Johannes

Thanks a lot man! I must disappoint you-I haven't got a real one I can only regret that my English is so poor that I can't explain everything so exactly as I would like to...

Best!

Exellent work Sergio! Just exellent. Those wheels looks just too real. I have to study those pics very closely and get some hints. Keep posting.

Hi Sergiusz,

I also think that you must a real one in the backyard...
Your weathering abilities are just breathtaking
Please, please tell us a little more on how you achieved these fantasic and unbelievable results....
Did you get the shiny metalparts only with the Gunze Mr. Metal Color (212 Iron)? Or did you do also use the pencil?
I really would like to hear more about your techniques and in which order you are apllying them...

The wheels do look perfect! Hats off

Best regards,

Notger
