SdKfz 124 Wespe

Hello fellow modelers and friends,

Its time for a new build.

Sorry for the pic, I guess I’ve been watching too much Japanese TV lately. Just a reminder, before the crowd starts yelling for me to throw away the model and buy the Tamiya one, remember that this is the kind of modeling I enjoy. This will be a great challenge. Also this will be a great opportunity to start a group build. Nothing fancy like the Stug build but if you have a self propelled gun lets join in a group build. The deadline is Dedember 31st !!! Who is up for it??

I will be using Edwards PE set to enhance some details.

Well, enough talk, lets build. There were some ejection pin marks that needed to be taken care of. Some green putty took care of that.

The hull was together now…

I found a small surprise when dry fitting the hull. There is a gap that needed filling. A small plastic strip got that in working order in no time!

The upper hull is done.

See you around in the next update. And brake out those Self propelled guns!!!

Hey! About time you started something new! But December 31st? I don't think so my friend. You're not that fast.

Interesting subject. (I like your opening graphic!)
I have the Tamiya kit sitting half built in a box that has been on the shelf for 10 years or so- it'll be fun to see your progress on this manufactures version.I wonder what with Dragon's recent Panzer II chassis releases of late that maybe they will have a Wespe for us at some point.

Thanks James, too much Japanese TV lately. How far along is your Wespe? Maybe you’ll get enough motivation to start on it again.

Im sure Dragon (or any other model company) will eventually come out with a Wespe model. Right now the Bison I is going to be released so its all a matter of time.

The first picture....

Yet again an old monster that needs some tough love.

I have a Tristar Stupa on the bench, but that might not qualify for the group build theme right now?

Yes it does! So without even knowing you already finished building before the group build started. Hahaha.
