THE KING - TII SPzr.Abt 506

ok guys so i've decided for my next project to finish one that i started 3 years ago. i built a tamiya king tiger way back when and just never painted it. i got it out a couple days ago, dusted it off, changed a couple things around and gave it a quick spray with some tamiya primer and am going to make a go of it. i'm going with a vehicle from spzr.abt 506 turret number 3+13. since it's approaching winter time i'm going to do a worn white wash finish just to try some new techniques so we'll see where that goes. i'll get some pics of of the primered model soon just to show you what i'm working with but i have a problem..... when i got it out i notice that one of the hub pieces has dissappeared. any of you guys happen to have a king tiger paint mule you could take a hub off and send me not sure what to do about that other than scratching one without the end on it or something like that but i have no references for that nor have i ever seen one with the end missing in photos..... any ideas....?

I found a guy on ebay selling parts and I think he has one he's going to send me so hopefully I'm over that hump. As to your question, I am going to do some hairspray on this and that's kinda why i'm doing it as I want to do some experimenting. Will be doing a few different layers so should be interesting.

Ok guys, not much to see here but here's what she looks like at the moment. It's the tamiya kit which I suppose is not as good as the newer dragon ones but it still builds up pretty nice and it was already done so.... There is some Aber PE under there and a nice barrel but I forget who made it..... like I said, this was a few years ago. When I dug it out it was super dusty so I gave it a bath and sprayed on some tamiya gray surface primer. nice fresh canvas ready to begin.....

Ahhh there it is! Good choice. Considering your Pz. IV, this Tiger II will also be a great pleasure to watch "growing".
I guess I have a hub cap in my spare parts box. (I'm not completely sure) But as you know, I can't send it to you before late December... let me know if you still need it by then.

Johannes

@ Arild: I guess it's Cavalier Zimmerit.

not sure what you're asking but i'll use tamiya acrylics like always. going to use a few hairspray layers on this one and see what happens. should be interesting even if a total disaster

what kind of camo? (you mentioned hairspray so...) =))
should be great as long as you paint zimm chips correctly and don't shade zimm too much cause it looks lovely, don't want it to look like dragons =)
