Pz commander

Need a commander for my PzIVG. Needs to have winter clothing. I've tried Verlinden but couldn't find anything in the online catalouge.

Any advice?

Miniart figures

Hi

I can't add anything to that already recommended other than possibly something from the Warriors range.

The Miniart figures are very good, I've several sets of there figures and I understand the sculptor who does these also does the Tank figures James mentioned.

The only thing I would say is that they tend to be scaled to the larger size of 1/35 scale. The only reason I mention this is if you decided to replace the heads as they do tend to look very similar in the sets.

Hornets heads, a popular and excellent choice look a little undersized I've found, but only on certain figures. Others they seem okay. I got the new German Self Propelled Gun Crew and they on initial inspection seem a bit smaller in stature and I think Hornet heads will work okay with these.

An alternative if you want to up the facial detail is to choose one from the Tank range of replacement heads, as these in turn are bigger than the Hornet ones. This would make sense as if what I've heard is true they are done by the same sculptor, and that is the only minor drawback - they again look very similar.

The Miniart set with five figures represents excellent value for money but if you just want one figure then maybe the sharper detail etc of resin may be the way to go. In this respect Alpine Miniatures would be my first choice.

Cheers

Alan
