The 2006 Alberta AFV Modeller Show will take place on Saturday September 16 2006 at the Military Museum (formerly known as the Museum of the Regiments) in Calgary Alberta.

This year's theme will be Big Guns. This theme will include indirect fire weapons dating from 1900-present. The rockets, artillery, mortars, or missiles can be vehicle mounted, self propelled, ground mounted, horse drawn, rail mounted, or towed.

In addition to the model contest and display, the show will feature a number of technique seminars and demonstrations.

The demonstrations topics will be as follows:

* Soldering photo-etched parts - presented by Tom Cockle
* Replicating scale non-skid surfaces - presented by Jim Carswell
* Figure painting using oils, acrylics and enamels - presented by Tom Syme
* Mold making (one and two part molds) and resin casting - presented by Neil McLeish and Richard Wise

This looks like it would be fun to go to. Maybe try and take some extra time and go to the Museum of the Regiments.

So far I am planning on heading to a small town near Edmonton on the Tuesday before.
From there we will be heading out Friday morning to Calgary.
I don't drive so I plan on catching a ride with a friend of mine.
My big concern is trying to get something completed in time.

I have a few kits that are close but nothing that is presentable.

Hey did I tell you that I was offered a few pennies for my Type - 3 (That Japanese Tank Boat).
I showed someone the photos you took in Calgary and they made the offer.

We are staying in a town called Ohaton it is near Camrose.
I am heading out with a friend of mine who will want to talk to you.
He is getting into the modern stuff, he thinks modern tanks even look different from one another ;) go figure.
