Panzer Interiors

I'm just getting back into armor models again after many years absence.
I must say that I'm very impressed with the quality of the kits these days.
I'm working on a Pz.Kpfw.I Ausf.A (DML #6356) and need help with the interior. I read somewhere that the driver compartment was a light buff color. Was everything painted this color? including ammo boxes, control levers etc? Is there a good source for interior vehicle color schemes?

Thanks - Malcolm.

Testor's Model Masters line of paints has a Panzer Buff Interior, which Tom Cockle recommends in his books.

It appears that James build is actually more accurate than the Littlefield restoration in terms of this question. In general German AFV were a cream/ivory color semi gloss from the sponsons up. Below the sponsons they were a bluish grey/green color. Hatch interiors were the same color as the exterior of the tank.

Sorry for my nautical term (I'm retired Navy). The part of the upper hull that projects out over the tracks is what I refer to as the sponsons. So take a line where the lower hull meets the sponsons, above that line is cream/ivory color and below is bluish grey/green. On German WWII tanks that is. Also this is not gospel but a rough estimate of the demarcation line. The line may actually be a little lower on the lower hull side on some tanks. Here is a link to a discussion on this very topic with some good pics. Scroll down the the "Market Query" post.
