Nice start. What thickness styrene do you use for the spare wheel mounts?

Ive used 0.3mm plastic card for the mounts. Do you think they look to thick?

On the rack that Ive built to be placed in the rear Ive used 0.5mm. Its somewhat overscale but the 0.3 were to flimsy and I didint have any suitalble metal that was hard enough.

Cheers

I think they look good, was more curious about what you used so I could try it myself! I tried it before, but the plastic was way too flimsy.

Hi there Janne. So this is where you're hiding .

Nice work on your Sturmi. Is it Dragon's SmartKit ?

Guess you'll be doing hard edge cammo on this one. I can really recommend to work with Blue Tac. I will make a very simple sbs in my own thread on this matter.

Keep it up. / Mattias Larsson, Sweden

Yup, Dragons kit with only minor modifications.

I will put up more pictures over the weekend.

Cheers

Keeping on it.

Heres more pictures.

The build is more or less finnished unless the ones with more knowledge than me would differ.

Left to do is to put on a string to act as rope tying down the tarp. I will do that after Ive primed the vehicle and then glued the tarp in position.

Also have to add the DT-5 machinegun. I was going to recast the one supplied with Dragons T34/85 when I found out that Modelkasten has one due to Brett Greens article on Hyperscale.

The crewman will get earphones and throatmicrophone. Please comment on his pose, pose of the left hand or if the head looks big?

Im also wondering about buying some decals. Anyone who can recomend any set? I have found these that seems to be available.

Looks great Janne. Trying to convince myself not to push the order button.
Also great that you found a DT-5.

The figures head do look a bit big. It's an old Verlinden head, right ?

The pose is good but if he shall be resting on his right arm/elbow it will look better if the arm is closer to his body. Maybe lean the body even more to the right, thus straighten his left arm to better keep the balance.
A nice touch could be to use one of Hornet's heads that's turned to either the right or left. Preferably in the same direction as he is leaning.

To me it looks ok from every angle. Can't wait for paint.

Thanks for the comments, fellows.

I will replace the head with one from the Hornet range and try to sculpt a Finnish field cap. I will resculpt the hand and try to change the pose with the arm. Hope to update you in a short while.

Cheers
