DML's Sd.Kfz.186 Jagdtiger Henschel type

Hello!
I am planning to build this vehicle out of the box, because it is supposed to be my base for practising the techniques of painting and weathering.
I haven't decided yet what particular vehicle I will do, but I know I want to build the vehicle which is partly destroyed, but not completely, because I don't want to make the interior of it.

First I sanded the armour plates, because there were too big dishes in the surface what was supposed to imitate the texture of rolled plate, but it didn't look realistic to me.

The same thing I did with the front plate, previously I had removed the fenders.

Before:

After:

Look forward to your comments and suggestions.

Robert

Czesc Robert,
Looks good so far.
Out of the box you say.... I see you are already cutting up the fenders. Next you will get Aber PE set, metal barrel and Friul tracks. Don't deny it! We all have been there, did that, and got the t-shirt to prove it.

Honestly, I am going to add some PE engine reticular shields and PE fenders ( I am planning to make them destroyed), but it is still as out of the box for me

The next stage was cutting and cleaning swingarms:

... and preparing roadwheels:

This is a set of dryfitted roadwheels:

I haven't still decided how to paint the vehicle. First I wanted to make #314 from s.Pz.Jg.Abt.653, but this vehicle was equipped with Porsche suspension, what you can see in the photo below:

In the other photo of the same vehicle another Jagdtiger is seen, but I don't know yet what number it is and if it is one of these which had Porsche suspension or if it had Henschel suspension - any idea?

Ohhhh,
Everytime I see somebody start one of these, I want to go back and crack mine open. Looking good so far!

Ola Robert

Nice start so far on this vehicle. I have seen these pictures numerous times and I too always had the idea to built something like that. Seeing this huge beast sunken in the ground against the tree. Looking forward to the rest
