my latest prey ...

hello gentlemen ...

today i went to a model exhibition close to where i live and could not resist temptation ... so this is my today's prey .oO(and had to stop myself from buying more stuff)

some fine hornet heads, a panzercrew while track change and two tankers at rest:

some advertising posters and wall maps:

verlinden's ruined mansion:

plusmodels transformer house:

my first modelkasten tracks ever - those for the 38(t):

and (of course! ) the tristar Panzer38(t) Ausf.B:

that means that by now i have got two 38(t)Ausf.E/F, three Ausf. G, one MarderIII and the Ausf.B, two plusmodels engine sets, one set of friul tracks and one from modelkasten unbuilt in the row and one Ausf. E/F close to finishing ... seems like i have a strong tendency towards the 38's

... uhoh ... the exhibition is going on until tomorrow and i promised my fellow modeller colleagues to visit them again tomorrow ... hopefully i can stay strong and will not buy the DML aufklaerungspanzer 38(t) which i already had in my hands today

cheers,

laura

Laura

Nice haul you got there especially the Tristar 38t ausf B Don't want to burst your bubble but the aufklarungspanzer does have some accurracy issues. If you are happy to live with it, then go for it.

Laura,

It would seem that you have strong tendencies toward the dark side.

Oh, and panzer 38t's. Nice haul. Thanks for sharing.

Great haul. I too want the 38(t) B. But I want to back date it to an A. Am I correct in that all I need to do to the B to make it an A is leave off the German fittings (Notec lights, and such)? Thanks.

thank you for the warning but i followed marco's brilliant build and noticed some of the ... uuuh 'features' ( ) ... some of the eclatant errors aren't bearable for me and my skills don't allow me to correct those properly yet

roy ...

if you want to build one of the 150 confiscated czech 38(t)'s the fittings should be left off of course but as soon as they where incorporated into the wehrmacht noteks and else standard stuff should be mounted ... afaik the main difference between the ausf. a and ausf. b is the calibre of the gun ... the a's were fitted with skoda's 3,7-cm-KwK A7/L40 and some of them were refitted with the german 3,7 cm KwK L/45 ... the other main difference between the 'a' and 'b' was the motorization: 125 PS strong Praga EPA TZJ with max speed of 40 km/h in the 'a' model and the remotorized version had the 150 PS strong EPA/AAC engine with max speed of 42 km/h ...

in general the versions 'b', 'c' and 'd' were only slightly different towards the ausf a ... i know this is scarce info but all i can say to the early 38's up to now

cheers,

laura

Talking

Could you please post pictures of Plusmodel engine?

CMK also makes one and would like to see how PM one is... As I don´t know CMK offer I will only know how one is, but it be better than knowing nothing. :-)

I like CMK resin more.

Why don´t you take photos of the meeting instead of spending in more plastic

(BTW I also like making towers of plastic kits in boxes Talking

Regards,

Antonio

Great shopping Laura. 38 rulez

Roy

I have ausf. B myself and also think about converting it into A from september '39. I managed to learn so far that A did not have Notek Light, it had different type of antena mount and had two types of antena. Bar and pipe one. Bar antena was used to communicate on distances 5-9 km and pipe antena was used to communicate up to 1 km. Pipe went along the left side of tank. Ausf. A had tools mounted on the back plate of hull.

Here are some pictures of A in 1939.

chris, roy ... you both were absolutely right with the notek

i missed that info and presumed that the notek was fitted automatically ... you can learn new things any day ... (phew - that's why i wrote afaik)

just found this book with interesting cover:

and on a french site i found this:

l'Ausf.B : 110 exemplaires sont produits (chassis n° 0151-0260), peu de changements visibles, ajout du phare Notek et de lance pots fumigènes, ces exemplaires servent pour la plupart en France avec les 7°, 8° Panzer Divisionen qui possèdent à toutes les deux 238 Pz 38(t).

cheers,

laura

Nice pics of the Ausf A

Roy,
The Ausf A also had thinner front lower hull armor, 25mm instead of 40mm.

Plus some drawings of the Ausf A features
