Thatís it for the moment. But Iíve two question in the end.

1.
Whoís right here? Voyager / DML look more convincing, but I trust ABERís research better! My reference pictures donít show this piece, maybe you can help me?

Hi Johannes, I went with the Aber way of doing these 'brackets' on my Ferdinand. I did find some pics to support this. Think they're there to hold the tow cable in place. Aber/DML also look correct re. the rain gutters.
Regards, Lincoln.

1. if i remember correct wit haber you have to bend p-e to shape. Which is some what right, as other p-e are wrong by my info. If you check my elefant you can see that i made mine with some evergreen.

2. do not have books with me but rain gaurd had different shapes to them.

Superb work Johannes, specially on the zimmerit . It makes me wanna finish my elefant as well.
Regarding your questions, I'm not sure but I'll have a look to see what I can find.

Hello everyone!

Thank you all very much for the support. It helped a lot and confirmed my guesses. Also thanks for your kind words

@ Ruslan: I'd really like to, but most of the pictures are gone. Maybe you can re-upload them?

@ Lincoln / Erik: Thanks for the info / pictures, very helpful indeed.

Another small update on the build before I go to bed.

Sawed off the big screw heads on the inside of the Verlinden part and glued them on the DML frontal armor part after the Zimmerit had dried finally. The small sheet pieces were glued in place to give the first rough shape of the opening for the MG.

This is how the inside of the frontal armor is looking like right now. The opening for the machine gun was modelled with Tamiya 2K-Putty.
Does anybody know what the two pieces from the Jaguar part are good for (they once sat on the red marked area)? The right piece looks like a communication thingie, but the left one? No idea. They're not glued in place, yet, but hold temporarily fixed.

The optics for the machinegunner. I drilled a hole in the tube and filled it with Future. Almost impossible to see on the tiny picture, impossible to see once the Elefant's finished, but it was a fun thing to do

The machinegun is very nicely done by DML. Unfortunately the instructions are pretty vague on how to glue to ammo pouch on.

Then I started to prepare the lower hull for the fenders. ABER provides a stencil on their fender PE fret to drill holes in the hull were the support arms would go later. That's a pretty neat idea and in none of the other available PE sets there.

First two fellas partly done!

That's all for the moment, I hope to get more done tomorrow, before the New Year's party.

Johannes

Looks very nice I really like the template idea for the fenders.
