Wide variation in price. The Alldav stuff says it's expired, and the link below says it needs to be kept refrigerated.

That's right, you don't want to know what the price is fresh. It works well enough for our use. I've used some well over a year after it's expiration date.

It says it expired in 2008? It looks fine though. I'll test it out in a bit.

Not sure, I'm more lazy than you...
When I looked at Kester website and some electrical supply sites they had multiple grades and applications of the stuff. Some in tubes, others in jars and most were by the pack. Say 24 pack of 500ml jars.

I got my first fix from a fellow modeler who works for an electronics company who makes PCB, what he sent me was overflow from the robot solder machines.

its used to solder electronic parts on to circuit boards, some places called it surface mount components, after a while if not kept refrigerated the flux dries out and the paste will not spread properly, leaving solder voids in the pads. for hobby applications no problem you apply it by hand and you can always add more flux. any body got any friends who does works in electronics assembly? ask them for some expired paste. they discard it after a certain date on the container
