Question Horch Kfz 15 - France 1940 Colour Scheme?

Hi all,

Just a quick question with hopefully a simple answer: would a Horch Kfz 15 medium staff car during the 1940 invasion of France and the Low Countries have featured the early 2 tone camouflage scheme or the single grey scheme? I'm inclined to believe it should be the 2 tone scheme.

Your thoughts?

TIA

Rudi

Rudy,

Rudy thank your for the great question.
I would say that standard 'Panzer Grey' and have been under the impression that during that time 1940 most is not all vehicles were painted grey.
I'm probably wrong on the above statement and hopefully someone here on planetarmor will fill us in on a more correct answer to your question.
Good to hear from you and good wishes.

Thanks Alex

I found the following picture which makes me think the early 2 tone, but hopefully someone can provide a more definitive answer

From this site: http://www.autogallery.org.ru/horch.htm

Thanks again for looking in, Alex

Early two tone would be the correct answer. The order to go to a single Grey scheme did not come until after the invasion (31 July 1940).

About to place an order for the Royal Model Horch Kfz 15 PE set this weekend, and then hopefully you'll see a build from me this century
