SdKfz 251 D megamix
1 Attachment(s)
Hello planeterians!

As I said earlier in KV-220 thread, I've started "just for fun" OOTB project.
It's one more 251 D - I really love this babe :).

You may note "megamix" in title.
And of course have some questions what does it mean :).

The right answer is:
1. Tamiya hull and fenders
2. Dragon interior and storage bins (left after 251 in zimm project)
3. Atak canvas cover.
4. Different parts from my spare part box.
5. Different PE parts (mostly from Aber).
6. Some scratchbuilding.

Step 1 - lower hull interior

Thanks God, Tamiya and Dragon have the same main dimencions (length and height), but not all.

I've trimmed froor for about 1,5 mm from both sides.
Firewall also trimmed for 2 mm from the lower side.
Additional armor - Tamiya 0,5 mm pla plate.
Bolts are from old Zvezda JSU-152 drive sprockets.

Gaps between floor and lower hull will be masked by different crew stuff :).

All comments are welcomed.

Hey Andrey,

Nice model and idea....:thumb:

I noticed you have 2 fire extinguishers on the rear, I think there was only one on the right side on the D model.(Squadron Signal 251 Walk Around, Hans-Heiri Stapfer)

It looks as though the front dash board is too high? Will the top fit over? I see a pretty big gap......;) Unless I'm blind...:D

Nice clean build...keep it up

Nice build. Kit bashing is always the best fun!

Quite a bit of kit bashing there :)

One thing though. The PE mounted on the rear of the back rests of the driver and radio operator seats. Haven't seen them go there before? I'm not quite sure what those holders are for, but I've only seen them attached to the hull sides. Any reference photo showing them in this position?

Looking good and makes me wanna start another run of 251s.

Arild :)
