Isn't it amazing how in a time of global recession movements can always find the money to go to war.

There will always be money for war. IMHO it is way more useful than spending the same money in a McDonald's, or in a supermarket on things you don't really need.

i think it's funny that whole world is against gadafi now but only few months ago he was on tour visiting every country he wanted and they had to find him space to put his tents and camels and no one said "back of dude you suck we don't want you here"
i remember when he was in slovenia... he met our premier/preiminister or whatever and dumb ass gave him some expencive paintings and bunch of stuff and his "brother in dumbniness" gave him camel or two for which slovenia doesn't have any space or money to keep =D
so yea... why was everyone so happy to see him if they knew all the time that he's such horrible dictator... maybe that strange thing called.. ...oil? =/
i guess when you have a chance to get rid of him is much better than being friend with him... why having some % of his oil when you can have it all...

I think they did not interfere with Libyan internal affairs because there was no casus belli and an invasion for oil (for arab oil!) would have made every arab country reluctant to work with NATO countries. So better have peace and a certain % of his oil along with the oil of all the others, than his oil only, and noone else's.
Now he managed to give an excuse to the rest of the world to start beating the sh1t out of him, and of course the international community took the opportunity to get rid of an unpredictable element.

And the other sad truth is that by going to war you are sure to stimilate the economy:eek:

That hasn't ben true since Vietnam. The U.S. has been on a permanent war footing since Korea, so additional expenditures actually are a drag on the economy.
