I built a DML StuG III D a while back....It was a fun build for me...I hurried up building it because I had a WWII report (my third one last year actually lol) and I wanted to do a report of Axis Assault guns...I say that because I did show an Italian Semovente.....Today however, the superstructure is well....swiss cheese lol and I had an old super structure from the DML Stug III F which I intend on using in it's place....I plan on stripingdown the StuG as much as possible and updating it....
The StuG III D from the Concord book 'Armor of the Deutsches Afrikakorps" was what I built...well, something like it.
I want to put an interior in it (the Jaguar set that I ordered on line from Olde Depot Hobbies (http://www.depothobbies.com/) in Massachusetts) , as well as p/e fenders (the Lion Roar set that I picked up at Monkey Depot (http://www.monkeydepot.com) , my local hobby shop.

the Osprey book with much better images of the read deal. Where I went wrong was the airfilters...their color plate of it is confusing, but after looking at these pics I learned a lot and hope to make the right corrections...

I got that Jaguar interior in the mail yesterday. I went through it this morning and have started on it and it's a real neat set. It's actually relatively nice and easy to clean up. Look forward to getting that together first (and post some images...I filled out my paper work in advance (some of you already know what I'm talking about ;) ))

Thanks Stuke...I look forward to putting that set together
Here are some scans of the instuctions of thr jaguar interior... it stinks that they are in black and white...well, actually just the grainyness of it all stinks... It has been easy to put together on the whole. You just have to be patient. I'd recommend this set to anyone interested in doing a StuG, as Jaguar has many nice interiors and they're bring them all back ;) even though, apprently the interior they made for the tamiya III L has the wrong pattern on the floor, or something like that.
I estimate that by Tuesday I'll have the interior totally together and by Wednesday, I'll be able to post some pics.

Nothing for tomarrow like i said...sorry... I'd rather go out and spend time with my dad than build a model any day
I did try to work on it a little bit though, but it's late and I don't want to rush and mess something up...The interiors in there and lookin good ;)

Hi all,
Sorry that I have been sort of lazy about posting new pics. I have been working the model, but slowly just to make sure everything lines up properly. I only have the gun sight left to attach, as well as a couple of the sights components (those instructions have been most difficult to interpret). Only problem I have been contending with is the left drive axel. It's TOO short. I can easily lengthen it, but as far as where exactly, I am unsure. I'll try to add a pic of that to show what I'm taking.
Also, as far as the interior colors, what's a good site or book that gives an idea about that. I mean, I have the osprey book, and it has that cut-out plate (easy to follow as far as how to paint it) of the Ausf B, but would there be any differences between the B and D as far as some of the colors of things (I know that may seem dumb) and even then, what about any possible changes in the interior to deal with the desert?

Here's a pic of the hinges (at least one set so far)

I started soldering the fenders last night and it wasn't really hard and was actually rather enjoyable. I only got like 1 1/2 fenders done though lol. Hopefully I'll get that and some other details done by Sunday.

Here are some pics of the Gun (no gunner seat in these pics though because I needed to make some adjustments)
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a355/ramcke_jager/StugDAKinterior008.jpg
As you can tell, I removed the drive sproket as well as the idler wheel. I didn't want to at first, mainly for the sake of the tracks, but after thinking about it, I'll just put some fruilmodel tracks on there.
look at these TWINS!!! lol

The instructions for the interior actually say to remove some of the sides for the gun on Dragon piece A1...I did that and then some...I had to correct what I did using some sheet styrene and putty...It still needs a little more work...
The inside

The one thing that I did have to do was to actually use some Squadron putty (you can see it throughout as the green stuff; it can sort of be seen in the last two pics on around the gun mount) to help the gun to stay in place. The only problem I had to deal with, as far as the gun, was that in particular because of the fact that the gun would lean to the right side of the StuG no matter how I adjusted the little rod to hold it in place.
