anyone remember this comicbook from when they were growing up- I sure do wish I had them all right now- they were cool ... although now with the jaded eye of middle age perhaps they would no longer seem as appealing or entertaining? :(
The other one I liked was G.I. Combat

I"m not positive but I think G.I. Combat WAS the haunted tank comic. I have always liked the M3 Stuart because of this comic. Probably had a influence on getting me into modeling in the first place. Of course I wince now at the fact the 37mm on the tank could kill every tank, and of course every tank was a Tiger. They explained it away that the tank has special ammo, but come on.
Every so often these show up on ebay, if you really wanted to get one.

I like "The Haunted Tank" too! So much so that I'm going to model the M3 Stuart version soon...

I loved that comic book I wonder how hard it would be to make a model of that hybrid tank they used for awhile I think it was a panther hull,T34 road wheels and tracks M26 pershing turret and a 17lber gun

Boy I wish I still had all the GI Combat, Sgt Rock and Nick Fury comics still. They were some fun reading when I was a kid.

Howdy fellas,
I too used to have just about everyone of those old comic books, including (working the memory here) the 'Capt. Cloud' (?) series. He was a Native American who piloted a P-51 Mustang (the whole 'horse culture' thing was part of the storyline).
Not sure the WW II themed comics are fetching the same ridiculous prices the 'Super Hero' stuff is, but I'm sure they've increased in value. The ONE major factor that affects these older books is condition.
And, Gunnie is going to add the dimunitive Stuart to his repetorie?.........kewl.
Can't wait to see your progress. But, (again, working the memory) weren't you working on the interior of one of these babies some time back?....or was that someone else.....?

Oh, BTW.......ya gotta lovethe amazing feat of muzzle declination acheived by this Tiger I......

Yep - that was me and I have an old Tamiya Stuart (early M3) with a scratchbuilt interior and engine. You know how things get lost back over at the home site - lots of posts and stuff.
One was built for a customer - and the one I'm puttering around with is for myself. I was working on it alongside the other one. I had been slowly working on it between other projects all of this time...

Aw Gordon - I always share! :) My Mom had a stroke on Tuesday morning, and we've been tending to her in Hospital. I've been kinda scarce back on the home site and at work in general (where I do most of my posting). I'm slowly getting back into sorts as she recovers...
