I am creating this thread to show off some work I've been doing on some 1/144 scale kits I had laying around in the stash.
I had started this T-72 as a little humorous beginning to the Modeling Expo over on Missing Lynx. But what first began as a little fun has turned a bit more serious....
This is the packaging of the kit, which includes two T-72's

and the contents....

Construction is completed in few steps. The fit was pretty good and the detail suprising given the scale.

Finally, some filters with Humbrol paints, chipping with Vallejo Russian Green, washes with Burnt Umber oil paints and some detail painting for a little splashof color and we are done....

Now we have a kit from the DML series of small scale armor that includes a Challenger II and a Warrior:

http://www.kitpic.com/is.php?i=11057&img=2001P3280012.jpg
We start on the Challenger bits:

The DML kits have more bits to add, and the kits consist of the softer vinyl material. Not sure if I like this stuff yet, but the detail is very good.

The completed model:

Next up I will construct the Warrior.....yeah, all of five minutes of time!

Got some painting done tonight.
You know the toughest thing about these tiny tanks are taking pictures of them! They are so small and it's hard to get my old camera to focus in on the detail.
The Warrior:

And the Challenger:

Weathering tomorrow or so.....

Lost a bit of control at the hobby shop today:

The Trumpeter kit has amazing detail for the scale. Better than anything I have built yet.
Unfortunately, the Leopold was already painted but looked too cool to pass up. :)

I couldn't keep my hands of the Trumpeter kit of the AAV7A1!
The packaging:

The kit went together very smoothly and had almost no gaps or fit problems. I prefer the traditional plastic over the vinyl that the DML kits consist of. And then the detail......astounding given the scale. I'll let the pics do the talking.

For scale, a Panzer IV roadwheel in 35th scale...

Please, please, please Trumpeter make more of these kits!

Hi Stuke,
those small vehicles look terrific  Please don't build those anymore or I may be tempted to get some of myself.
Those are so small that you could put quite a lot of them into a diorama. Some Kursk or road to Baghdad kind of thing?
Niko
Ugggggh Modern!!!

Hi James,
sorry to hear that work disturbs hobbies :o Well, hopefully we can see your projects to move on sooner than in summer :thumb:
Cheers,
Niko
We should all write a letter to Jame's boss and tell him that we're all going through tainton withdrawal here!!!!... I can only keep going over the 251/9 thread so many times!

I can relate to the "all work no play" discussion right now. Very little time for modeling right now!
Thanks for taking a look guys. If you need an afternoon break from what you are working on, I recommend one of these little buggers!
