I think you are right... I would have seen that is wasn't if I'd taken the time to review references. Here is a couple of shots from a typ 87 that I did.

Definitely not a bug..but cool nonetheless..... :)

Nice model James. I have that kit but am saving it for a rainy day. How was the build...good fit? Please say yes.... :)
