I saw the movie Der Untergang yesterday. It was really well made, if very depressing in it's depiction of what war can be like, especially for civilians. The character development of the participants in this fateful drama is thorough and at times frightenly real. The prolonged scenes with Magda Gobbels and the Kinder is one of the more difficult to take reenactments.
This movie takes place for the majority of the time inside the bunker under Hitler's chancellery. This has been covered in a couple of other films such as The Bunker from director George Schaefer, starring Anthony Hopkins or Hitler: The Last Ten Days with Alec Guinness, but this film takes the detail much further. The movie is based on the writings of one of Hitler's personal secretaries. I recommend it to those interested in this end time of the Third Reich.

There are some brief shots of various 251s and a ludicrious Tiger made from spare metal mounted on some tank chassis.

Hmmm....I find it a bit odd that they show how the Goebbles kill their children, one by one, methodically. Then they cut when Josef shoots Magda and then himself.
I think they did it like this to make it more gruesome to the audience.

The thread have been up on the "other planet".
