Did the German Camera men belong to individual units or where they dispatched from Berlin to take war photos. I am wondering because there is a nice set of camera men in the new dragon Tiger kit and I want to know if they had unit markings on there uniforms like the regular troops or some other distinguishing marking. Does anyone know of a good ref for them? Thanks in advance.

maybe this will help?
they used the uniforms of whatever services they were already in. "Propagandakompanie" and "Kriegsberichter" were denoted by the color of their waffenfarb piping or specialized cuff titles in the Heer, Waffen-SS and Luftwaffe, but none in the Kriegsmarine. The color for "signals" ("Nachtrichten") was used in the latter part of the war for the land-based services as well as the Luftwaffe.

Thank you very much. This should make for an interesting dio. And thanks for the link. Now I have another way to avoid modeling <g>. ;)

I have a book with a photo of a SS Kriegsberichter, he wears the usual SS uniform. Standard insignia, with the exception of the cufftitle which says, SS-Kriegsberichter. Interestingly enough, he has an Iron Cross. Looks like he saw his share of action in addition to taking pictures.
