I've got a Mobelwagen under construction at the moment. Spring break starts today, so I'll try to get some pics up. I've got some Eduard PE and Warriors figures for it too.

The hull, with work on the suspension started. Idle wheels are the late type. I've also started some work on the mounts for the armor panels, as well as adding the Bosch light and a tow point.

Evan,
I built this kit over a year ago, was a nice kit to build. I added considerable detail to the basic kit using pics of the one at Samur, especially to the gun as it lacks some detail, especially the gun sight...could use some ammo boxes as well.
However, it would look fine as an OOTB build. I recently bought the Dragon Actung Jabo crew set to spice it up a bit.
Any thoughts to a camo scheme yet?
Should look nice when done, nice build by the way.
Regards, Paul

Thanks for the comments. For the paint job, I'm going to go with the usual dark yellow, red-brown, olive-green camo. I'm thinking a vehicle of the 1st or 12th SS in Normandy. As for details, I have the small Eduard set, just a few parts for the gun and shell ejection net. I might add some more etch, like tool clamps and such. Most likely I will get some Friul or ModelKasten tracks for it.

Looks like you are off to a good start Evan. I suspect that being a Tamiya kit that the construction has been pretty straightforward and painless??

Stuke, this one has been no problem to assemble so far, apart from the armor panels. The things have several pin marks on each one, so I need to fill and sand. Other than that, it goes together pretty nicely.

Here's a little update. I've got the gun started, and the front and back armor panels are in place.

Another view. I still have to add the ammo tray, shell ejection net, seats, gunsight, etc.

OK guys, I want to finish this one and I need some advice. For late mode Panzer IV tracks, what would be best? Friul or MK? Or does WW2 Productions (i think that's the name) make any such tracks, and if so how do I contact them? I'm thinking about adding some PE tool clamps and such, I assume that Aber has what I'm looking for. As for crew figures, I purchased Warriors' crew when I got the kit, but I'm not sure about it. I have considered using some of the figs from the new DML Flak crew and doing a winter vehicle. Just some thoughts about where I am on the project right now. Basically, apart from the stuff I've mentioned, I have to finish the gun, add the side armor panels and their hooks and stuff, add exhaust pipes, the second tow point, and spare track rack. I just may get something done for once

G'day Fellas.
Nice work thus far Evan. I have wanted to do one of these for a while now, and I'm almost inspired to start work after seeing yours. I've attached a couple of pics of Mobelwagons, the first I think is 11 Panzer. But its the J Mobelwagon with disc camo that I'd like to attempt! ;)
As for the tracks, personally I'd go for Fruils, the MK items are too fragile and WW2 Productions only make Ostketten as far I can recall.

Why not get one of each and let us know your opinion
MK's are really fine but much work, Fruils are great in ease of assembly and they have a natural wieght for track sag- WW2 Productions- never used.

Thanks for the response. Nice pics Bill, thanks for posting them. James, if the budget allowed I would buy one of each  but I really need restrain myself. Fruils are sounding good...
