Painting Tank Crew in 1/72 (1/76)

I have been wandering the internet finding some amazing photos of painted up figures in 1/72 but I just don't know how they get down to the amazing detail that I see there.

For example, I'm seeing clear rank insignia and "SS" markings on collars and the like.

Can anyone provide any guidance on where to look for some more information?

Some people just got steadier hands than the rest of us, but the insignia may well be decals. I've used decals to good effect in 1/35, and suppose some are available for 1/72 as well.

Thanks for your response.

I have a pretty steady hand but some of what I'm seeing really goes beyond this - I have seen 1/72 decal uniform insignia by one manufacturer but they stopped producing them a few years back due to some quality issues.

So, I'm thinking there is either some tool that I'm not otherwise aware of (I have a 000 brush but it feels like a 111 when I'm doing this really fine stuff) or, yes, there are other decals out there.
