Hello!
I'm stuck in a bit of a rut with my modelling so I want to do something completly different.
I just finished watching the tv show Generation: Kill. I would like to build an Abrams tank from the initial part of the invasion. My bigest problem is that I have mostly built axis armor to this day. I know Dragon have some kit(s) out and I thought I'd go with one of those. What's the best one to go with? What aftermarket on vehicle stowage, accesories and such would you recommend?

Thanks for the help!

The Dragon kits you want are either the M1A1 AIM (#3535) or M1A2 SEP (#3536) kits, depending on whether you want to do an A1 or A2. They're typical Dragon superkits with a zillion parts in styrene, PE, etc., more like a "premium edition" versus a "smart kit". They can be a bit tricky to build, but are probably the most accurate OOB Abrams out there. Dragon has some older-mold M1 versions out there so don't be fooled by those. The Tamiya M1A1 isn't bad either and probably needs some work by rivet counter standards--but you can find those relatively cheaply. Italeri has one that comes with a resin engine and some other bits, and Trumpter has several versions too, but I'm not sure what they're like.

Any modern stowage would work. I know Legend makes one for M1s.

Echelon makes several decal sheets with lots of great OIF options.

Good luck!

Thank you so much. I just had a look at the M1A2 SEP yesterday and think that I'm going for that one!
